Zoegirl is made of of three women, Chrissy, Alisa, & Kristin. I will not attempt to rate them individually, but rather as a group. Their music does an excellent job with teaching young ladies how to live as a Christian in an unGodly world. I've been to see them in concert, and I was struck by how unworldly they seem. Their Christianity is no put on, and I've never heard of them being the demanding artists many Christian bands can be. Zoegirl is truly an example for how Christian artists should act. Only in their songwriting do I have a few issues. First, the lyrics, while admirable in expressing concern and hope for girls, do get old after a few cds worth of the same topics. That also leads into my second issue. Zoegirl's lyrics focus exclusively on girls and girl subjects, which is very cool for girls but not for the guys. As a guy, I'm a fan yes, but it is a challenge to listen to lyrics that are talking to girls on their level and with no concessions toward male fans. To me, it seems like Zoegirl is overlooking a good chunk of fans in males. There are men fans to be sure, like myself, but Zoegirl could have so much more impact if they included the gentlemen too. But at the end of the day, I am a fan because of their sincerity and amazing harmonies despite the lyrics.

I would give ZOE girl a 10! though I have to agree with Gothicray, they are missing a portion of their fans by not singing about male issues. Though I must say the last time I saw them they did mention they had a lot of male fans and that we are “ZOEboys” I really was never a fan untill I say them live for the first time. They rocked so hard a bunch of people left. They sounded great. And I have been a fan ever since.
I can agree with Anna about more guitar parts, though I think Live they do.

And they need to branch into new lyrical territory.

Actually I'd rate them a ten for a girl group. Overall...9 out of 10. Perfect except for that little *only girls* issue.
